SOCIAL SERVICES
Social Services is part of Student Assessment Services. It is grouped with medical and psychological services, speech, physical, and occupational therapy.
Assistance is given to families from the time of enrollment until the time when students
leave our school to pursue other programs. Information is provided concerning sources for
financial assistance, making direct referrals when necessary. We assist with the
coordination of vocational services, including accompanying students to visit possible
future training facilities. Counseling is provided to students who may be experiencing
conflicts with other students, or difficulty in conforming to the demands of others. We
contact parents on behalf of teachers or other staff who feel that a student is having
difficulty in responding to the demands of class work or dorm life. If we suspect that a
child is being abused by anyone, or deprived of fundamental care and provisions, we are
obligated to report these suspicions to the proper authorities. We are available to visit
families in their homes, by phone, or letter any time we can assist in answering questions or
resolving concerns. Social Services is here to help.
