Special Education Teacher

Applications are being accepted for this position at the Oklahoma School for the Blind, Muskogee, Oklahoma. The school provides full-range of educational and related services for Oklahoma youth that are blind or visually impaired from the time of identification through 21 years of age.

Position Responsibilities: Provide classroom instruction to blind/visually impaired elementary students. Provide instructional services for students based upon the curriculum requirements for each student's IEP (Individual Educational Plan). Prepare and maintain appropriate reports, records and documents necessary to comply with school policy and meet the local, state and federal requirements to include lesson plans, progress reports, lEPs, curriculum materials and other items as necessary.

Preferred Education and Experience: Requires Special Education Certification issued by the Oklahoma State Department of Education. Visual Impairment (VI) Certification preferred.

Salary: Annual salary is commensurate with education and years of experience. Employees are provided health, dental, life and retirement benefits as well as an option to participate in the State's tax-deferred annuity program.
